It lightens our burdens, inspires hope, connects us to others, and keeps us grounded, focused, and alert. For those of us grappling with mental health conditions like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, humor can be a vital coping mechanism. In the throes of a manic episode or the depths of a depressive one, finding something to laugh about might seem impossible.
